Youform's free plan has no counters at all, just one seat

If you left Typeform because the eleventh response ended your month, Youform builds the same one-question-at-a-time forms with nothing counting behind them. Unlimited forms and unlimited responses, free (as of July 2026), with conditional logic, calculations, file uploads and integrations for Google Sheets, Slack and Zapier.

Two things to check before you move anything across. The free plan is one person, and it does not take payments. There is also a number Youform does not publish, which changes how much weight the word unlimited can carry.

68 out of 100, and the single pillar that pulled it down

68 places Youform in our Usable band, fifth of the 17 form builders we score, and the shape of that number is lopsided. Generosity is 84, the fourth highest in the category, because genuinely nothing is metered. Feature depth is 58, well below the free-first builders it competes against, and that one pillar accounts for most of the distance between Youform and Tally at 78.

The gap comes down to a single feature. Stripe payments need Pro at $20 a month, while forms.app and Tally both include payments on their free plans. If you collect orders or deposits through a form, uncapped responses do not help you, and we would rather the score said that than average it away. Sentiment sits at the middle too, on one review score only (G2 4.4, checked 24 July 2026), which is thin evidence for a young product from a small team.

Usable

Unlimited forms and unlimited responses free, for exactly one person.

Free plan generosity35% of the score

84/100

Unlimited forms and unlimited responses, free, with logic, calculations, file uploads and Google Sheets, Slack and Zapier integrations included (as of July 2026). Two things keep it just under Tally: the free plan is one user, and Youform does not publish a fair-use ceiling, so we cannot tell you where the real limit sits.

Feature depth for the category25% of the score

58/100

You get the one-question-at-a-time format, conditional logic, calculations, 10 MB file uploads and basic analytics without paying, which covers most lead-gen and survey work. Payments are the gap that matters in this category: Stripe needs Pro at $20 a month, while forms.app and Tally both include payments free.

Freedom and honesty20% of the score

70/100

Nothing is metered, so nothing gets switched off when a form does well, and no card is involved. The strings are Youform branding until $20 a month, a single seat, and no self-hosted option. It is also a young product from a small team, so the free plan has a short track record behind it.

What free users report20% of the score

52/100

One score only, G2 4.4 (checked 24 July 2026), with no Trustpilot or Capterra presence. A single provider is not a pattern, and we hold nothing about the free plan specifically, so this sits at the middle.

Scored July 2026. How we calculate the free plan score.

One seat, no payments, and limits nobody has written down

Writing Youform's limits down is odd, because most of them are not numbers.

  • One user. Team members start on Pro, which includes 3, and Business at $60 a month includes 5 with extra seats at $10 each. There is no free second seat.
  • No Stripe payments. Payments, custom branding, custom domains and partial submissions all arrive together at Pro, so any one of them costs the full $20 a month.
  • Youform branding stays on your forms until you pay.
  • File uploads are capped at 10 MB.
  • No published fair-use ceiling (as of July 2026). Tally names its numbers openly at roughly 50,000 submissions a month. Youform names nothing, so unlimited here is a promise rather than a documented figure. We have not seen a free account throttled, and we have not seen a policy either.
  • A short track record. Youform is a young product from a small team. That is not a criticism of the software, but it is worth weighing before you build a business process on top of a free tier with no published terms.

Nothing switches off when a form does well, which is the failure mode that catches people out on metered plans. The risk here is a different kind: not a wall you will hit, but a wall whose location nobody can show you.

$20 buys payments, a domain and two more people at once

Youform's paid ladder is a bundle rather than a volume meter, because there is no volume to meter. Pro at $20 a month is where custom branding, Stripe payments, custom domains, partial submissions and 3 team members all live together, which turns the upgrade into one decision instead of a series of them. Need any single item on that list and you pay for all of it.

That cuts both ways. It is cheaper than Tally's $24 Pro for a broadly comparable set of unlocks, though Tally hands you payments for free and Youform does not, so the comparison depends entirely on whether money moves through your forms. It also means there is no cheap way to buy branding removal on its own, which is the item most solo users actually want.

Business at $60 a month adds email and SMS one-time-password verification, activity logs and 5 seats, with extra seats at $10 each. That is a verification and audit tier rather than a larger Pro. Both prices are annual; monthly billing is $29 and $89.

Is Youform really free? Yes, with nothing counting down

Yes, genuinely free

You can do the job this tool exists for, indefinitely, without paying.

Yes, and that sits above where a score of 68 would usually put us, because the verdict asks a narrower question than the score does. Nothing on Youform's free plan runs out: no response cap, no form cap, no view meter, no quota that takes your forms offline. The 68 comes from missing features and thin review evidence, and neither of those is a ceiling you can hit.

One person collecting leads, applications, feedback or survey answers can run Youform indefinitely at any volume and never see a bill, with logic, calculations and file uploads included. Set against the tool most people arrive here from, that is the difference between 10 responses a month and none of your business being anyone's meter.

Two groups should not plan around it. Anyone taking money through a form needs Pro at $20 a month, and anyone who wants a second editor needs the same plan for a different reason. If either describes you, forms.app's free plan includes both payments and unlimited team members at zero, in exchange for a 5-form cap. Free Youform alternatives and our best free form builders hold the wider comparison.

Frequently asked questions about Youform

Is Youform's free plan really unlimited?

Unlimited forms and unlimited responses, yes, with no view meter and no quota lockout (as of July 2026). The honest caveat is that Youform does not publish a fair-use ceiling the way Tally does, so we cannot point you at a documented figure for what counts as too much. We have no reports of a free account being throttled.

Can I collect payments on Youform for free?

No. Stripe payments require Pro at $20 a month billed annually, or $29 monthly (as of July 2026). If free payments are the deciding factor, forms.app and Tally both include them on their free plans.

How many people can use a free Youform account?

One. Pro at $20 a month adds 3 team members and Business at $60 adds 5, with extra seats at $10 each (as of July 2026). There is no free collaboration of any kind.
